Everybody Loves This Intricate Lumberjack Cake, Except Tree Lovers

It’s safe to say that almost everybody loves cakes. These sweet pieces – that can take any form, you just need to order the one you want – are with us almost on any occasion. Birthday, graduation, wedding? If there’s cake, count me in.

Although almost each of us tried to make simple cakes in the comfort of our kitchen, when it comes to more complicated shapes and recipes, leave them to the famous cake decorator Elizabeth Marek. Her biography says she started her cake career in 2007 after being tired of her work as a graphic designer. An interesting project of hers is the lumberjack cake. Let us see below some photos of this intricate, yet delicious cake:

Like it always happens at great beginnings, it was her family and friends who supported her at first by ordering cakes from Liz. In 2009, she opened Artisan Cake Company in Portland, Oregon. She already had a creative background and it didn’t take her a lot of time, to be known for her unique wedding cakes and creative sculpted cakes.

This is not all, as Liz shares her art online too. In 2015 she and her husband opened her online school Sugar Geek Show where she shares tutorials for cake lovers and people who want to learn from her work. Liz even published a book named Visual Guide to Cake Decorating.

When it comes to her lumberjack cake, Liz wrote on her website:

When hubs chopped down that Christmas tree all lumberjack like, my obsession with plaid became clear.  I’m in love with lumberjacks. It makes sense. I love the trees. I love beards. I love plaid. This lumberjack cake is a culmination of almost all my obsessions. If I could have worked in a mermaid I would have.

The plaid pattern inside makes this cake look just more wonderful. Imagine how yummy it must be!
